New Restaurant Opening (Vic)

Steakhouse BlueFire will open its doors for the first time on Friday the 23 September 2005 for dinner.

This new restaurant is located at the Pier 35 Marina along Lorimer Street in Port Melbourne. Tides Seafood Grill and Oyster Bar was previously at this location. The restaurant closed after Fathers Day (4 September 05) for a total refurbishment along with a new menu.

Our vision is to create a uniquely Australian restaurant, where steaks are to the fore, with a featured list of no less than 15 varieties. Everything from the local Gippsland Angus, a grain fed beef that has been aged for over a month, to the world renowned uniquely marbled Wagyu beef, from Northern Queensland. From Southern NSW we have sourced a prime superior breed that has been grass and grain fed, then well aged, resulting in a beef with authentically Australian subtleties.

For the non meat eaters and more health conscious we have dedicated an entire page to modern vegetarian offerings and of course the finest local seafood is always fresh from the Markets.

With views across the Yarra, gigantic ships passing our deck and the workings of our major port as a backdrop we think that Steakhouse BlueFire is a truly unique destination.
